CEO

Giannis Papadopoulos is the CEO of ATTICA VENTURES, since its establishment (July 2003) and was fully responsible for the fund raising process of its first VC Fund named ZAITECH FUND (40 million EURO), and the management team selection. He has 10 years experience in managing venture capital and investments since before collaborating with ATTICA VENTURES he served as an analyst and investments manager and then as managing director of FINCO S.A., a company specialised in managing venture capital and providing investment banking consultancy services. Prior to that he worked abroad with the insurance company ALLIED DUNBAR (Swindon, UK), a company in the ZURICH GROUP.

He has served as an executive on the BoD and Investment Committee of various public institutions, asset management companies, public listed companies and venture backed enterprises (Public Power Company- the biggest company in Greece € 5,8 bn. turnover in 2008, Hellenic Tourism Development Co. the leading Greek real estate asset manager, ISAP, Attica Wealth Management, mastihashop, Craft, Doppler, Foodlink, Performance Technologies etc.).

He addressed many seminars and conferences on entrepreneurship, investments and venture capital, both in Greece and abroad. He has also been invited as guest lecturer by business schools and universities (NTUA, Economic University of Athens, ALBA etc.) 

He is Secretary of the BoD of the Hellenic Venture Capital Association and he is also elected member of the BoD of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001 (the largest scientific association in Greece).

He holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA from the Cass Business School, City University (London).
